In this Intrepid Journey, All Black turned television presenter Glen Osborne tackles two central Asian countries he's never heard of — former Soviet territories Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Beginning in Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent, the most populous city in Central Asia, Osborne skips the architecture in favour of connecting with locals. A Turkish massage tests his limits, and a veteran wrestler tests his strength. In Kyrgyzstan, he's a physical education teacher for a day, and the kids have never had a better rugby trainer. In the countryside, Osborne gets up close to an eagle on the hunt.
Well, I've travelled the world as a pro rugby player, but with full-on rugby tours a bloke never really feels that he can get to absorb the culture and the country he visits. But now, I've been given the opportunity to travel in a very different way, through two countries I never knew existed.– Presenter Glen Osborne introduces this Intrepid Journey
