Jack Buchanan

Wellington actor and musician Jack Buchanan won an audience of millions during New Zealand's Covid-19 lockdown. Buchanan took an old backing track he'd created, composed some lockdown-themed lyrics, and enlisted his family to join him for a dance-filled video which got six million+ online views. The family scored positive feedback for "making people really happy and joyful, in a time that is otherwise a bit grim". Buchanan — whose acting work includes a run of theatre roles, and 2016 web series Bright Summer Night — also uploaded solo track 'The Ballad of Covid-19 (Stay Inside)' onto YouTube, a few days before lockdown began.
