Four Kiwi kids and their families around New Zealand open their doors to share the unique ways they all celebrate Christmas. This documentary looks at family traditions, both old and new, and the excitement — and occasionally heartache — that comes with the season. In Auckland, George acts in the Tongan Church’s annual nativity play, while Dudley (later, musician Dudley Benson) sings with the choir at Christchurch Cathedral. Further north, Sarah and her family in Paihia stand to watch the Queen's televised Christmas message, and in Opononi Christie’s family celebrates the day by camping with a hāngī.
It's a mix of heartache, happiness, hustle and haste as Kiwi kids hit the shops.– Narrator Dean Cornish on Christmas shopping
