Landscape was produced by ex National Film Unit producer Bob Lapresle, partly to help train up NZBC staff. Six episodes were made in 1968, and six the following year. Each half-hour show focussed on people and personalities rather than scenery, which was covered by the NZBC’s popular Looking at New Zealand. Landscape covered varied topics like life on the West Coast, a family shearing gang, muttonbirders exercising their customary rights, life for a Wellington cop, and the growing awareness by New Zealanders of the arts.
