Living by the Stars

Exploring the night skies of Aotearoa, Living by the Stars illuminates traditional Māori astronomy and Mātauranga Māori. In each short episode Māori astronomer and academic Rangi Matamua brings his knowledge of Māori astronomy to life. Presented on Facebook and Instagram TV, the te reo show spans three seasons, each focusing on a different topic: the Matariki star cluster (2020), the Māori Lunar-Stellar calendar (2021), and the Sun's movements in Māori astronomy (2022). Produced by Long White Cloud Productions, Living by the Stars was nominated for Best Māori and Reo Māori Programme at the 2020 NZ TV Awards.
