Living the Dream

Living the Dream flipped reality television on its head, as Hawke's Bay vineyard worker Sam Chambers competed on a reality show, unaware that he was the only real person on it. This Kiwi take on American cable TV hit The Joe Schmo Show was produced by Touchdown Productions. The writers and cast (some of whom were new to acting) had to adapt to unexpected alliances and events. Spin Doctors actor Mark Ferguson revelled in the role of smarmy host, flirting, setting outrageous tasks, and having a memorable meltdown in episode eight over being pushed too far.
