Love Soup was a short-lived duo featuring Christchurch teenagers Bic Runga and Kelly Horgan. The two Cashmere High School students had already played in band Judas Iscario, with Runga on drums and vocals, and Horgan on guitar. In 1993, as Love Soup, they scored third place at music contest Smokefree Rockquest, and won a contract with Pagan Records. But in the music video for their composition 'You', Runga was the only one visible. After a bidding war, Runga signed to Sony Records as a solo act. Horgan played on Runga's solo debut, 1995 EP Drive, which is listed as 'Lovesoup EP' on the disc. He later joined the Heavy Jones Trio.
