Long-running series Missing Pieces launched on TV3 in 2009. Focussing on the search for missing family members, the show was hosted by investigative journalist David Lomas — who was also one of the show's directors and producers. Subjects shared life stories, exploring sensitive topics like unexpected pregnancies, forced adoptions and family estrangements. The search for loved ones often led Lomas and his team across the globe. The hit series was later renamed Lost and Found in 2015, and in 2020 it was reborn as David Lomas Investigates, tweaking its format to delve into one family story per episode, instead of two.
