Moon TV

Television, 2002–2010

Twice nominated for Best Comedy Programme at the NZ Screen Awards, Moon TV parodied talk shows, soaps and reality television. Created by Leigh Hart — who'd first won fans as 'That Guy' on SportsCafe — it mixed written and improvised material. The series road tested sketches which later spawned shows Late Night Big Breakfast and Leigh Hart's Mysterious Planet. Regular features included a book slot with writer Joe Bennett, reality show spoof Speedo Cops, a medical soap, and Hamsterman from Amsterdam. Season three featured a mini world tour; season four was built around a New Zealand road trip, while the sixth visited New York.
