Can't believe I'm first to comment. Born in a Polish refugee camp in 1945, Bogdan [Lee Grant's real name] aged 5 and his mum came to NZ and became Kiwis. My band Green & Yellow, opened for his farewell show in Auckland in 1968, after 3 NZ #1s. He had a stellar career in the UK, recorded a single at Abbey Road in 1970 where the short balding session pianist earned 7 quid... Elton John. Got to know him well when I was a TV producer in London in the late '80s, many a nite with fellow West End performers and friends around his piano in Acton. Acting has been his love, so many TV shows, films, musicals. Have heard his audition tapes with Black Sabbath, he turned down The Hollies as lead singer, was his co-best man when he married the lovely Jo in 2013, 1st time for both... one of my dearest friends, and is like my older brother. Thanks To You Bog!
