Muroki Mbote Wa Githiniji (Muroki) is a Kenyan-New Zealand reggae musician known for his laid-back grooves and hypnotic vocal flow. Raised in Raglan, he picked up the guitar at age eight, before going on to play in local bands Cloak Bay and Masaya. Muroki debuted solo in 2019 with the single 'For Better or Worse', catching the attention of musician Benee, who signed him to her label, Olive Records. His 2021 EP Dawn featured hit track 'Wavy', followed by the albums Heading East (2022) and Timezones (2024). In 2023, Muroki collaborated with Riiki Reid on te reo Māori track 'Kārewa' for the Waiata Anthems series.
