National Treasures

Television, 2020

Reality series National Treasures examines aspects of of New Zealand's recent past, using artefacts and historical objects as prompts. Hosts Stacey and Scotty Morrison are joined by historian Jock Philips, Te Papa curator Matariki Williams and a panel of experts based at Auckland Museum. Together they discuss  in English and te reo Māori the stories connected to each object. The items include a battered cricket ball from the infamous 'underarm bowling' incident of 1981, a keepsake from Bob Marley's sole Kiwi concert and a carved school desk that is a stark reminder of the shameful Dawn Raids in the mid 1970s.
