Elvis Presley's immortal words of burning love are put to the test in Pants on Fire. The musical short follows a whirlwind romance between a dashing firefighter (Johnny Barker) and Morgan (Britta Brandt, from crime series Straight Forward), whose house has burned down. The film took away the top prize at the 48Hours film competition for team Lense Flare, as well as another for Best Original Song. This was not Lense Flare's first rodeo — director, writer and actor Johnny Barker (also known as Shortland Street's Ferndale Strangler) and company also won the national competition in 2007, with another musical, Lease.
Another great year with a well deserving team that didn’t let a tough genre get in their way of delivering a truly ambitious 48 hour film.– 48Hours director Ant Timpson on the Lense Flare team being given musical as their genre
