Based on the toy franchise of the world's first 100% Māori speaking dolls, Pipi Mā is an animated series for pre-schoolers that follows young tamariki who speak te reo Māori. Pipi, Hura, Tītoki and Pītau Pōtiki are a group of four friends who get up to all sorts of fun and learning at their kōhunga (full Māori immersion kindergarten) — with their adventures also teaching lessons about literacy, numeracy and behaviour. First launching in 2018, the series was originally a collaboration between Rotorua-based production company Long White Cloud (formerly Punarau Media), and Auckland animation studio Mukpuddy.
