Each new day at their kōhanga reo is a new chance for fun and adventure for four young tamariki, Pipi, Hura, Tītoki, and Pītau Pōtiki, in Pipi Mā. This animated series is based on characters from popular te reo Māori speaking doll brand Pipi Mā. Presented in te reo Māori, each bite-sized episode features catchy waiata and educational adventures. In this third season, the friends learn about the world around them with Haumi the magical waka and Waropai, the friendly playground taniwha. Co-created by parents Kirstin Ross and Hōhepa Tuahine, Pipi Mā celebrates te reo in an engaging way for kids. The episode guide for the eight episodes in season three can be read here.
Pipi Mā can be really valuable to the revitalisation of te reo Māori. I think that there's an opportunity for Pipi Mā to help normalise the language. I think that there's an opportunity for Pipi Mā to help raise the status of the language, to make sure that the language survives today and into the future.– Pipi Mā co-founder Hōhepa Tuahine on aiding language revitalization, The NZ Herald, 25 October 2017
