Piri's Tiki Tour

Television, 2018–ongoing

Described as a "grassroots catch ‘em and cook ‘em style series", Piri's Tiki Tour celebrates the hunter-gatherers of Māori communities and the kai they provide their whānau. Presented by former All Black Piri Weepu (beloved for often leading the team haka between 2005 and 2013), he makes friends wherever he goes, speaking in English and te reo Māori. The show has run for six seasons since 2018, with Weepu travelling all across the motu — he's been spearfishing in the Coromandel, eeling in Dunedin and even peacock-hunting in Whakatāne, to name a few. In 2019 the series won Best Lifestyle Programme at the NZ Television Awards.
