Radio Crimes

Pluto , Music Video – 2005

from the album Pipeline Under the Ocean (2005)

Adam Jones was one of the most significant music video directors of the noughties, working with popular Kiwi artists Stereogram, Goldenhorse, Scribe, Opshop, and as above Pluto. In this simple yet stylish video for the rock band, a collection of television sets broadcast them playing 'Radio Crimes' amongst other footage, including political speeches, children's cartoons and outer space. The track featured on Pluto's second and most successful album Pipeline Under the Ocean, released in 2005. It went double platinum in New Zealand, and featured their award-winning single 'Long White Cross'.

The 'Radio Crimes' song is a big, bold indie rock number, tempered with Pluto’s trademark delicate falsetto harmonies. But the video pushes Pluto right back.
