In May 2022 soap Shortland Street marked its 30th anniversary with a special episode featuring a 'drag-tastic' reboot of composer Graham Bollard's now iconic theme song — and a wedding for Desdemona and Damo. In this clip Desdemona (Kura Forrester) lives her drag dreams, lip synching to Bella Kalolo's soulful take on the opening verse. Poi performers pour onstage and the second verse becomes a spirited te reo waiata. The last verse belongs to veteran star Tina Cross, upping the ante on her original vocal to suit the fabulous occasion. The wedding guests join her onstage for a group dance number.
