Sina

Samoan-New Zealander Sina Saipaia grew up in Ōtara, South Auckland, where she met another teenager who loved to sing  Pauly Fuemana. Sina would go on to be the backing vocalist for Fuemana's band OMC, including singing the famous hook of 'How Bizarre'. In the late 1990s, she worked with OMC producer and co-writer Alan Jansson on her own pop record. Her first single 'Don't Be Shy' was certified gold, followed by 'Boy' which featured in the film What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?. Thanks to record a company takeover, 'Boy' and her self-titled album were shelved at the time, before finally getting released 19 years later, in 2017.
