Current affairs show Sunday takes a look behind the scenes of Roger Donaldson's 2005 movie hit The World's Fastest Indian. Based on the life of motorcycle legend (and ladies' man) Burt Munro, the film had always been a dream of Donaldson's — Offerings to the God of Speed, a documentary about Munro, was one of the first films he made. Reporter Mark Crysell interviews Donaldson and Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins on set in Invercargill and Utah, roughly two decades after they first met for epic film The Bounty. Donaldson also shows off some authentic Munro-made props, inside a replica of the record-breaker's garage.
He catches me off guard. It’s like as though the ghost of Burt Munro was there in front of me.– Roger Donaldson on Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Burt Munro
