Te Pāmu Kūmara

Set on an idyllic Kūmara Farm, Te Pāmu Kūmara is a children's drama that follows the adventures of 12 year-old Tai (Owairea Tawera), her Nan (Kararaina Rangihau) and an ensemble cast of tamariki (children) and rangitahi (young people). Tai is matakite — a person with spiritual insight — and she uses her gift to help protect her farmland and whānau, especially from the conniving Grace (Acushla Tara-Kupe). Te Pāmu Kūmara is Aotearo's first live action children's show to be completely in te reo Māori, whilst animated show Pipi Mā achieved the same for animation in 2018. The series has two seasons, directed by Awanui Simich-Pene.
