The Slacks have described their sound as "shimmering subversive singalongs". Scott and Mark Armstrong, Blake Gibson and Zane Greig have been creating catchy lyrics and easy melodies since they first formed in 1999. The band's musical references shift from rockabilly, to folk, to reggae and ska. Just as happy to jam in a backyard or beachside as they are on the WOMAD stage, the Taranaki boys have racked up hundreds of thousands of streams online, thanks to popular singles 'Yeah Nah' and 'Big Aroha'. They released their third album Welcome to the Rolling Vibe in 2014.
