Tiny Ruins began as the pseudonym of Auckland singer/songwriter Hollie Fullbrook, then developed into a four-piece band. Known for their musical exploration and Fullbrook's lyrical craft, they've gained a wider audience with each release — from debut album Some Were Meant for the Sea (2011) to the acclaimed Brightly Painted One (2014) and Olympic Girls (2019). The band are often associated with a generation of Kiwi folk artists who have won recognition overseas – including Nadia Reid and Aldous Harding. Regulars on the Silver Scroll songwriting shortlist, Tiny Ruins won a 2014 NZ Music Award for Best Alternative Album.
