Trent's Wild Cat Adventures

Auckland Zoo carnivore keeper Trent Barclay appeared in Greenstone's long-running series The Zoo. In this spin-off show — one of a number of offshoots from The Zoo — Barclay encounters lions and other animals in South Africa. “I’m conducting a fact-finding mission like no other," he says. "Meeting people like me who are crazy about cats, and discovering all there is to know about these amazing animals.” Across 10 half hour minute episodes, Barclay delivers the Kiwi phrasings that made him a viewer favourite: for example: on holding a young tiger by a chain: “I tell ya, it's like taking a mobile meat mincer for a walk”.
