I’ve just watched this excellent movie, brought back so many memories, as I attended one of the concerts on the first tour Kenny made to NZ, and his last concert also.
Sadly, life now in our once peaceful and beautiful country is not the same as it was back in 1973/74. Makes me feel disappointed that we aren’t living together with our multiracial population as we were back then.

I saw Kenny Rogers & The First Edition perform at 2 concerts, both in Wellington. They were the first 2 of the 3 concert tours that they undertook in N.Z. They were fabulous shows. The female member of the band, Mary Arnold, went on to marry Roger Miller of "King Of The Road" fame. Met Tony Williams thru mutual friends (both actors), Nick Morrison of Wellington and Auton Low of Gisborne.

HI my name is Eve ex pat from Christchurch NZ, now living in Dunedin. I met Kenny Rogers and the First Edition at the Christchurch Town Hall on their 1973 NZ tour and had photos taken with them. I still have the photo with Terry Williams. I was 17 then and still a fan

Wow thank you kindly for this. It was lovely to see the old New Zealand, and we truly had a beautiful untouched land then, and all the people just had a look of true happiness. I was pretty young when they did the NZ tour, like about 8 years old, but sang along to the words and loved them then and now have grown and know the songs word to word, Kenny was pretty hot looking guy back then, also charming. As to the rest of the band loved it, many many thanks.Elle.

Does anyone recall the concert in Wellington's old Town Hall, and the name of their song which started dust particles to "mist" the stage?
Auduence thought "Oo, special effects".
Then as the song went into the chorus crescendo, the ceiling above the stage collapsed and dropped dead pigeons, eggs and nesting material and dusty debris.
Everyone (band included) froze - "Is this an earthquake?"
But one raced to front stage and said "Well, Kenny, now we can honestly say "we brought the house down", and they carried on
- with stage hands (in black) creeping around the stage wiping plaster dust from speakers, amps, keyboards, and sweeping up the detritus.
Man it was funny!
I'd LOVE to recall the song that did it.
I Think it was "Something's Burning" but hope someone can confirm.

Awesome! In 1974, I was 15 years of school girl and attended their concert held at Tauranga's Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre.

Wonderful seeing Tony's doco again. Brings back wonderful memories, especially being with Kenny and the gang on the bus and at the poolside concert at the Campion's in Te Horo.
