This five-part drama is based on the life and career of Mike Bungay QC, who appeared in over 100 murder trials and became New Zealand's first 'celebrity' lawyer. Bungay was renowned for his raucous private life as much as his quick-fire brain. Episode one stops briefly in war-torn London before Bungay emigrates to New Zealand. In episode two Bungay (Mark Mitchinson, Siege and High Road) represents diplomat Bill Sutch in the sensational 1974 'Soviet Spy' trial. Episodes three and four explore Bungay's growing fame, complex romantic life and roll call of clients. In episode five Bungay's feelings for married Ronda Morgan (Sally Stockwell) blossom into love. Check out the episode guide here.
