A Familiar Feeling
- Comedy
- Romance
Woman meets man in a bar. Sparks fly and memories are made — but not as anticipated. Five-strong team Snack to the Future were assigned 'cringe comedy' as their genre for the 2019 48Hours film contest, and chose a simple idea with a neat pay off. The result scored five awards at the Christchurch finals, before bringing the Grand National title down to Canterbury for the first time. Playing the star-crossed couple are Hamish Parkinson (The Eggplant) and Phoebe Hurst. Judges praised the slick production values, and the film won Best Script. Director Julian Vares was a Christchurch regional winner in 2013 with The Eh Team.
