It was created by drawing with a chinagraph pencil on acetate, directly under a camera. I drew for twelve hours more or less non-stop from Saturday until the early hours of Sunday, then attacked it again on Sunday for another eight hours ... I believe the fluid, flowing nature came about because I was being driven by the narration and really wasn’t sure what each drawing would morph or lead in to.– Parry Jones on the process of animating this film, in the Charlotte press kit
