"I would describe the Ahmed Zaoui case as the story of a personal tragedy. But, it's also the story of redemption, and perhaps vindication." says lawyer Richard McLeod. In late 2002, an Algerian man named Ahmed Zaoui walked through the arrival gate at Auckland airport with a fake passport, seeking asylum. In the post 9/11 climate, Zaoui was suspected of being a terrorist, and imprisoned with little explanation as to why. Through ten podcast and video episodes, John Keir documents the monumental legal battle between Aotearoa's "highest profile prisoner" and the state. Featured are interviews with Zaoui, and his lawyers Deborah Manning and Richard McLeod.
