How to Murder Your Wife

This darkly comic telemovie is inspired by real events; the 1977 murder of Betty Benning by her animal loving husband Alf Benning (Simon O'Connor). Geraldine Brophy's blistering performance as Betty won her a Best Supporting Actor Award at a festival in New York. Writer John Banas (Siege, Underbelly) has the murderer narrate his tale of desperation and canine devotion in leafy Karori. The gallery of charismatic supporting characters includes queer icon Carmen (Boni Tukiwaho) and flashy defence lawyer Mike Bungay (Mark Mitchinson). Detective Mark 'Biggles' Everitt is played by Australian actor Todd Lasance.
