The final episode of this series, made for and by Kiwis with disabilities, revisits earlier profiles from the 2004 season. First up, actor/designer Grant Tilly meets furniture restorer Leon Nodelman in his Island Bay home, decorated in intricate carvings inspired by Nodelman's Azerbaijan and Soviet heritage. Nodelman gives Tilly a tour of his workshop and home, both adapted to meet his needs as a wheelchair user. The second subject is ceramic artist Mirek Smíšek, a WWll Czech immigrant who became one of Aotearoa's first professional potters. He discusses managing his asthma and epilepsy while enjoying his work.
I always feel I owe New Zealand quite a lot; my children, them growing up in a safe country and I always appreciate New Zealand, I like New Zealanders because they're really friendly people.– Furniture restorer Leon Nodelman on his adopted country
