The youngest person to participate in an Intrepid Journeys, Keisha Castle-Hughes dives braided-head first into her East African journey. Shortly after arriving at her first stop and spotting a stork "the size of a small adult", Castle-Hughes admits to a fear of birds and tries to brace herself for what's to come. Castle-Hughes spends time in Tanzania, Kenya and Zanzibar, bonding with locals, camping with hyenas and spotting the lion's share of the Big Five cats. Though she misses Christmas Day with her daughter, Castle-Hughes embraces the anomalies and culture of East Africa.
I think they're called marabou storks. I'm not kidding you, they're the size of a small adult. They are so big. And they're flying as well. I'm convinced that they're all after me. Oh God, he's looking at me...– Keisha Castle-Hughes struggles with her fear of birds in Kenya, early in the show
