Iconic broadcaster Ian Fraser reunites with longtime friend and comic legend John Clarke in Australia to talk about Clarke's childhood, comedy career and using humour to make life more entertaining. Fraser was the MC at the 2012 NZ Food and Grocery Council annual conference in Melbourne, where he had a relaxed chat with Clarke. The Fred Dagg icon reveals what inspired him to create the beloved farmer character, the "fabulously talented" actors he met at Victoria University, and moving across the ditch in 1977 with pregnant wife Helen. Clarke also talked about the runaway success of his first album.
Life could be pretty boring if we didn’t make it funnier. I was always trying to make things more entertaining.– John Clarke on trying to make people laugh when he was young
