Jonah - First Episode

This excerpt from 2019 TV drama Jonah opens in 1995. Jonah Lomu (Mosese Veaila), fresh from his star-making run at the Rugby World Cup, experiences the strange new world of global fame. Lomu returns to Auckland where manager Phil Kingsley Jones (Kelson Henderson) oversees a lucrative Super Rugby deal. The second part of the excerpt is set in 1987 in Māngere where a teenage Jonah (Dominic Tupou) dutifully attends church with his family and yearns to test his physical talents with his mates. Director Danny Mulheron also shot another 'true life' rugby drama The Kick in 2014.
