Short film Marieville reunites director Grant Lahood with actor Peter Tait, who has appeared in several Lahood films — including 1993 award-winner The Singing Trophy. Tait plays Cyril, an elderly man who has drifted into a fantasy world centred around a model of an American paddle steamer. When his daughter Karen (Amelia Reynolds) sees a painting in a gallery, she recalls memories of her dad. The boat takes a journey of its own until it is rediscovered by an artist (played by real life artist Michael Hight, who created the painting used in the film).
Leave me alone, would you?– Cyril (Peter Tait) after being interrupted in his imaginary world
