Ross Jennings was not involved in Mark II. He was the associate producer on Kingi’s Story.
Ross had left TVNZ by the time we made Mark II.
I would have been delighted to have had Ross as my associate Producer he was a top bloke and an outstanding Producer/Director. Also he was Head of Drama before leaving TVNZ for work in Australia.
Ross and John Anderson are both now deceased. RIP guys.

Excellent stuff.
Grew up with a Mk II as my Dad had a '62 white over green lowline as his primary transport until '86, when it was sold to a collector. Probably worth a mint today!

I've seen this movie about 50 times when I was growing up lol. I used to be able to pretend to shoot the tyre out when they got that blow out on the desert road lol. Then they ended up in my home town in Wainuiomata when Kingi ends up with Maurice Wiipani hahaaa

I wish Mitchell Manuel, Nicholas Rogers and Faifua Amiga did more movies. Their performances in Kingi's Story, Kingpin and Mark 2 were top notch. Classic NZ actors in my eyes.

I definitely agree with you, Bernard. I've been binge watching NZ movies lately and have come across so many great films I hadn't even heard of before, this being one of them. I contacted Sky about adding a channel dedicated to NZ films and they replied they have no plans as of yet. It's a damn shame, so many great NZ films out there that are so hard to find. Would love to own a copy of this, was a good watch.

Thanks! I as countless others have been looking for this movie. Why is it a lot of great kiwi movies from the 80s are hard to get or not played on NZ TV as often as it should. The stories are great and relevant to today's society and this generation can also relate. Will "The Silent One" be on here as well?

In your photo gallery the boy on the left of Mitch Manuel in Mark II is Kevin Tako not Junior Amiga as stated in the caption. Kevin plays "Sniffbag" in the movie.
Good on you for making Mark II available.

One of my favourite movies of all time. A brilliant NZ film. Brings back lots of memories from when I first watched it in 1987! All three lead actors played great parts, but I thought Nicholas Rogers played an awesome part as Eddie.

Thanks for posting this great film. I watched this years ago as a youngster and haven't seen it since. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it again. I think it was even better! It makes you wonder why we haven't produced more and more works like this over the years for TV? More please.
