'Me at the Museum, You in the Wintergardens' is the opening track of Tiny Ruins' sophomore album Brightly Painted One (2014). When the album was released in New Zealand, frontwoman and principal songwriter Hollie Fullbrook was on tour in Europe, opening for Neil Finn and playing cello in his band. Finn directed and edited this understated music video, using footage he'd shot of Fullbrook on the tour. Brightly Painted One was critically acclaimed; it won Best Alternative Album at the 2014 New Zealand Music Awards, alongside numerous other accolades.
There's so many gems, both musical and lyrical across the album, it's hard to pick favourites ... [Hollie] Fullbrook understands the art of using all things with care and subtlety, including dynamics. But when you have a voice as good as this, and the stories to go with it, you need little else.
