I thought the film was amazing. The story kept me interested at every step! I thought the acting and the Music were sensational and the humour was beautiful. Pai rawa atu o koutou mahi!

Hasn't this story been a bit done to death? Where the son or daughter wants to leave the family farm and become a star but the gruff father demands that he or she stay. I knew exactly what was going to happen at every point. I even knew what was going to be said most of the time!

The writing is not flash. I'm not knocking someone who can get a film made, good for them, but the writing and the acting are definitely grade B. I don't say that to cause offense, I'm just stating what I saw and heard.

A bit slow in parts, but a real crack up. My kids have always looked at me funny when I say "He's all plaque" - obviously not the in phrase. You should've heard the whole theatre crack up in Gisborne when Hone said it! And the music is the bomb, worth buying the soundtrack for. Yes whanau, buy it & support NZ/Maori music!
