Dolphins are social animals ... it's extremely unusual then for a dolphin to be solitary like Opo was. I think she was a very lonely dolphin, and it looks to me as though something may go wrong in the dolphin's kin group, which leaves it alone. For some reason the rest of its pod was separated from it.
