Although Snapchat dude Tom Sainsbury (Wellington Paranormal) might be best known as a comedian and actor, he is also a filmmaker who has enjoyed success in the 48Hours short film contest. Working with 48Hours regulars ChillBox, Sainsbury wrote and directed 2018's national winner Peptok, which also took away awards for Best Director and for actor Kate Simmonds. The 'Technological Thriller' follows a freelance artist whose life is guided by an onslaught of self-help platitudes, fed directly into her ear by a special device (voiced by Chris Parker). Many of the Peptok crew worked on previous 48Hours winner (Time) Travel Centre.
Warning: this film deals with issues of suicide.
Live life on the edge, otherwise you're taking up too much space.– Peptok, voiced by Chris Parker
