It's more people that don’t understand about piercings, and they look and they think 'Oh my god you know, watch out for her, she’s one of those persons that’s going to steal from me or do something to me. They’re gonna hurt me in some way.'

Piercing's done for, I think, three reasons. One's ego, one's for aesthetic, one’s for sexual. And I think often those three reasons can be fused together.

You start off with a belly button piercing and end up hanging from hooks. To me, it’s not horrific, it's just something I do, because of my piercing studio. So it's just an extension of that for me. But yeah, I guess I’d have to say it's extreme: you’re hanging from your flesh — you’re doing everything that your brain tells you not to do.
