Brought tears to my eyes now that I'm no longer living in NZ.... and I'm not Māori or had much to do with Māori culture.

So I just found out today that my Great Uncle Mart was part of the team which built the Aotea canoe remembrance arch. He was a plasterer by trade and made all the figures for it.

Taika Waititi has many parents here! What a joyful clip.
The music is superb, but the clip deserves fame beyond your borders.

Fantastic from one who lives between jozi south africa and europe to be re-connected through the power and love of the song and dance of maori - the light in the singer's, children's eyes, the magic of the words the sentiments, the tradition made real in the 21st century to be meaningful for us who were born in NZ ... ... thanks for the inspiration to reconnect to my real home xxx to all
