Police College sees everyday Kiwis quit their day jobs to get better work stories. Looking to eventually make the cut and join the force, cadets head to the Royal New Zealand Police College in Porirua and start the gruelling, information-overloading 19-week-long training. In this first episode, recruits Klaus, John and Rachel try to find their feet as they work through the first week at the college, described by a senior trainee as '10 times worse than an army camp'. The trio mingle with their fellow recruits, swiftly learn the do's and don'ts, get fitted for their new blue threads and get thrown in the deep end of a real murder inquiry.
That's what scares me. When you talk to others and they tell you that this is the easy part. And it's going to get harder.– Recruit Rachel Hay
