I was talking to the writers one day and they were like, 'We haven't got this completely sorted yet but when you refer to Aunty Jools and Aunty Lynda, that is the Topp Twins'. Meeting them was amazing. I actually think I was a wee bit star-struck but they were just so, so lovely, so funny. I know my nana would have absolutely loved that. She was related to the Topp Twins. It was definitely a really cool day and I thought Nana would have loved this.– Rebekah Palmer (Dawn) on learning she would share a scene with the Topp Twins, The TV Guide, 8 November 2018
Hey girl, I reckon you caught and roped the Best in Show.– 'Aunty' Jools Topp commends Dawn on her choice of groom
The barn's water tight if the weather goes to custard on you...– 'Aunty' Jools reckons her barn will prove a good wedding venue
I wasn't expecting actual 'Dames'...– 'Man of honour' Damo (Grant Lobban) is a bit star-struck
And who's this, the florist?– 'Aunty' Lynda mistakes man of honour Damo for someone else
It's so strange. Even walking down the aisle with the Topp Twins singing, the cast are all such good friends anyway, it's like your friends are all there at your wedding, I was getting a bit teary-eyed walking down the aisle.– Rebekah Palmer (Dawn) on her big scene with the Topp Twins, The TV Guide, 8 November 2018
Shortland Street's an icon now, just like us, and we thought it was probably time.– Jools Topp on appearing in long-running soap Shortland Street, The TV Guide, 8 November 2018
