I would also love to see this film again. I wasn't in it, and missed the premiere screening, but went to the first night of its brief commercial release at the Ambassador Cinema (I think) in Point Chevalier as part of the Auckland University Gay Liberation Group's Gay Pride Week...and took one of the posters off a power pole for my bedroom wall. I was coming out and the real-life depictions of gay life in the city, the reflections of neon lights on the rain-soaked downtown streets and the company that night of people who had been extras in the film's pub scenes all made a huge impression. It's hard to describe the significance of its impact on me now in these days of reality TV but it was the first time I'd seen anything like contemporary NZ life on screen - it was only the second NZ film I had ever seen after 'Sleeping Dogs' - and it was a story about being gay.
