In 2002 major American label Capitol Records signed Steriogram, after discovering their playful single 'White Trash'. The band's debut album Schmack! featured 'On and On'. The song is early 2000s punk-flavoured pop, featuring vocalist Tyson Kennedy's manic rap stylings. The video echoes the constant movement of the title; the band rocks out on a city rooftop, then Kennedy bails to its underground car park. The video turns road movie, with the band cruising around on mini motorbikes, but Kennedy soon crashes out. After dodging a sinister heavy with a baseball bat, he reunites with the band and fans at the rooftop gig.
Tyson was so good on the mic. He sort of came to life. At that point, I also realised what it was becoming. It wasn't so much going to be my band anymore; it was more like this thing we were going to make together. And it felt right. It felt like this journey we were all meant to do together.– Founding band member Brad Carter on the birth of Steriogram, AudioCulture, 8 August 2019
