Love this film. I can still see scenes in my mind's eye. And hear the singing of the Mareta character. And can still see Wi Kuki Kaa sleeping on the couch. Barry is deeply missed. I have a question for NZ On Screen: Did Te Rua screen at Vancouver International Film Festival? I am sure it did. A group of us screened it again in Vancouver, a few years later as well. Respect!

Saw this amazing movie for the first time (29 Nov. 2014) and wonder why it is not screened more widely. Too ahead of its time? Innovative techniques really worked. Strong voices all the way through. Looking forward to a feature film with soundtrack by Warren Maxwell?

I watched this Movie at college. I really enjoyed it. Helped guide me into my future career path. Studied Anthropology and wanted to work in Museums as a result. Funny how films can shape choices. lol. How can I get the whole film??
