A 1967 novel by American Thomas Savage inspired director Jane Campion and English producer Tanya Seghatchian to adapt this tale of 'domestic tyranny' for the screen. The fraught drama is set on a 1925 Montana ranch; it was largely shot in the spectacular surrounds of Central Otago. In this trailer, rancher Phil Burbank (Benedict Cumberbatch) takes pleasure in goading his new sister-in-law (Kirsten Dunst) and her son (Slow West's Kodi Smit-McPhee). The acclaimed Netflix drama was nominated for 12 Oscars. Campion won Best Director at the Oscars, BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and the Venice Film Festival.
