Ronald McIntyre was a NZ war correspondent and senior cameraman at the National Film Unit after the war. He wrote a book "Films Without Makeup' while in Maadi, Cairo, about NZ action in the war, and his own experiences.

The full story of Keith Elliott's VC is incredible. His was the first VC ever awarded in the field and after he pinned it on Montgomery grabbed Elliott's arm to stop him from saluting him, because he considered he did not deserve a salute from Elliott. Montgomery then led Elliott by the arm onto the rostrum while the NZ Div paraded in front of him.

Keith Elliott is a truly great New Zealander and a true humanitarian, after the war he became an Anglican minister working mainly in Maori parishes.

interesting to see how this movie covered so much that yesterday on Maori TV they used so much of it but added their own slant to it, often using bits of it well out of context, but who was Ronald McIntyre?
