I always love watching this. Unfortunately this is not the full and original version. I would dearly love for the original film clip to be shown. A lot has been left out of this. Perhaps someone can oblige please?

...thoroughly enjoyed the doco Maori Battalion Returns, quite sad to see the number of young men,who didn't make it back, and whose gravesites are to be found in such far away places. When I was a little boy I used to holiday at my aunty's [Hazel Harai Bluett] at Te Maunga,in the early sixties. Her husband[both deceased now] was Raymond Bluett,or uncle Heeni as we knew him.I remember playing with his medals, obviously not knowing or understanding what they were about....uncle Heeni received two citations for actions in Nth Africa and Italy.WW2 has always been on my interest list,so to be able to follow the exploits of the battalion, and my uncle in particular as they climbed the boot of Italy, has been absolutely fascinating! To them, the men of the battalion, and especially to those who didn't come home, kia ora e hoa.Arohanui.....
